From William Tuthill in Newport, RI: "Where else will you find an original 18th Century building, a lamp that still runs on gas, and a guy over 200 feet above the ground in the bosun's chair of a Superyacht?"

A fleet of youth sailors train in their O’Pen BICs while the America's Cup class yachts compete in the Louis Vuitton Trophy being held in Nice, France.

With Key West Race Week now only two months away, Jonathan Kriebel spotted four J/105s prepared to head south at Fenton Marine (City Island, NY). Here are three of them.

The Snow & Satisfaction Regatta @ Yale in 420s is one of those storied college type events that attracts undergrads and alums for some "my era was best" competition.

Following a 5,000 mile Atlantic marathon, the inaugural doublehanded Class 40 event - La Solidaire du Chocolat - proved to be a boon for Rogers Yacht Design as their Rogers Class 40s took two of the top three slots. Here we see the tired but elated Tanguy de Lamotte and Adrien Hardy celebrate their victory. Photo by Bruno Bouvry.

The BMW Oracle Racing team has been training for the America's Cup in San Diego for over one year, yet their 90-foot trimaran is not often seen by the locals other than during their speedy tow between the ocean and their downtown base. However, now that they are testing their wing rig, the BOR-90 must sail in and out of the harbor, and are often training inside the harbor. While the wing is definitely a cool edition, just seeing the boat sail is what the locals have been waiting for. Photo by Colleen Cavalieri.
